The Christian Walk

Posted: September 13, 2015 in Uncategorized

I did not grow up as a christian, no I was a rebellious angry agnostic, yes my afternoons were filled with the glorious task of disproving the words and words of the almighty. I felt this was because growing up i was surrounded by hypocrites, the whores on Saturday and holy on Sunday types. I felt if his followers were a joke, then he was too.
See the most important part of the christian walk isn’t the adherence to the rules, the white picket fences, or the size of the tithe, its the way we walk. my mother used to tell me that “We are a better example than any bible ever written”. shes was right, or years i felt that God couldn’t be loving because no one who claimed to be his followers were loving or  understanding. It took one man,one friend, who told me these powerful words: “God doesn’t require us to be perfect, because we cant, only that we try to be the best we can be, not because Gods watching, but because Gods  children are watching”. we are to be an example to others that is the calling God has for us.

How are Christians suppose to represent Christ properly? this is a question vie asked myself for years, i have many friends who either don’t believe in God, or do but don’t know how to properly worship him. see many Christians today don’t have a proper understanding of how to truly live like Christ. how to walk talk, interact with believers and non believers. they fail  to realized that everything they do and say is under complete scrutiny.

People look at Christians who boast about their morality, but we can not just talk about it we must talk and act, it is said “If anyone says ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seem. the true moral high ground is love and understanding without we lack the right to say we come in the name of the Lord or even in the name of what is right. our differences shouldn’t separate us but should draw us closer, celebrating our diversity as a display of Gods creativity.

I’m here to speak to your heart, we could talk statistics or facts all day long and maybe convince you we need change or I can appeal to your common sense. I’m here to tell you about the Black communities’ worst problems and why they happen. What causes the black community to Struggle as it has for decade upon decade? We talk about black lives matter and hands up don’t shoot but have you ever wondered why we are in this state and why the police treat us as less than people. It’s US, plain and simple; we have forgotten what our forefathers Fought so hard for, Respect. The police treat us like Thugs because in our music all we talk about is “trap life” and how much we love the “Co Co”, WE no longer have respect because don’t deserve it, we soul our souls For a pair of J’S and A Fresh Chain.

We have allowed our children to be indoctrinated into believing that family and faith means nothing anymore, selling drugs is the new nine to five, Gangs the new family gatherings. God is a distant cousin we only call on when we need something and his last name might as well be damn. Our church the former epicenter of our community is deaf and mute, hearing and speaking no evil. Black women are three times more likely to get pregnant because we don’t have mothers of the church to guide them, marriage faltered as well, one third of black marriages end in divorce, and why wouldn’t not, we don’t know how to keep It in our pants, or wrap it up. We are exactly Fourteen percent of the population, but fifty percent of the reported HIV. Our women have no self-respect anymore, not in the media with all the twerking and booty shaking, or at home being side chicks, or Bae but never Wife. Y Mother always used to say if she’s good enough to bed she’s good enough to Wed.

No Role models besides the dope boys on the Sin known as BET, where Black children are taught Violence is the answer to all problems is the key reason why 43 Percent of murders nationwide are upon the black populous; where are our MLKs, Malcom Xs, and Id settle for a few community center leaders? They have been replaced by Corporate Black Icons like Curtis Jackson or should I Say “50 Cent” who can make blood money selling false hope and dark futures to children. The only math urban youths know is the weights on the drugs they sell like ounces and grams. Thousands have become stacks, racks or bands, No child left behind created more imbalance and disenfranchised children than any song, or indoctrination ever before. This Law forced schools to look more at the academic scores and rankings than the progression of the student’s education. Schools are pushing low scoring children into alternative schools, special education programs and often the easiest solution, increasing the disciplinary policies to zero tolerance to kick out “bothersome urban youths”. The focus of academia has become less about the development of the future of this nation’s Financial stability and more about making sure our school ratings are “A1” as they say; becoming dropout factories.

All This I say to you to open your eyes, before we ask for equality we should fight for equality in our neighborhoods, fight for right to become educated, fight for our right to prove the stereotypes wrong, Don’t demand change, make change, force it through actions not fancy words. You want to make a difference stop talking, repair the church, don’t go out and buy fancy clothes to look cool and bed people with no respect for themselves or you. Close your legs, and wrap it up, Go to school, get a degree, learn a trade; show the world black live matter, because if you don’t, then black lives do not Matter. I’m Not an author Just a simple Guy who had to speak his mind. We Lost our unity and that’s what killed us as a People who once were a force of True Change.

Have you ever received a gift you loved with all your heart? A Special something that you did not deserved, but gladly accepted and used ever chance you had? something you delighted in? A gift is something given from one person to another without the expectancy of payment. God has given us many gifts, the gift of grace, life, and so on; even with all these he is not selfish in giving special God bestowed talents called gifts of the spirit.

Three types of Gifts are given to Christians that reflect the sum of human capacity: Our ability to Think (Revelation), Speak (Utterance), and Do (Power).

Gifts of Revelation

The Gift of Prophecy, deriving from the word “propheteia” it means to speak for another one. Speaking for God, relaying his divine messages. The point of Prophecy is to strength the hearts of the church, Giving people and end goal, showing the truth of Gods word to unbelievers convicting the souls of the lost, so that they may turn to the light and be found.

The Gift of Tongues, is the ability to speak in a language that is completely unknown to you, Sometimes the language is unknown to man, in this case it is not directed to man but to God “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries” 1 Cor 14:2. While the other type of Tongues is a language that is to be interpreted and needs an interpreter.

The Gift of Interpretation of Tongues, the ability to decipher the words of those speaking in another language of tongues. this is form of glorious worship, encouraging people demonstration the awesome power of the lord and his ability to reach people even in different languages.

Gifts of Utterance

The Gift of Wisdom, when should we speak to someone in need of counsel? how should we approach them, this gift gives you instruction from the Holy spirit in decision making and how to deal with situations.

The Gift of Knowledge, is information of facts that are known not from the efforts of man, but from the power of the holy spirit. It is used to help counsel the confused, give insight to the purpose of word of God, confirmation to what is in the bible, and explanation of scripture.

The Gift of Discernment of Spirits, “The Gift that gives the Christian insight into the supernatural world. The Gift is to enable the person to know the motivation behind a situation or person” -Rev. Alistair Taylor. know what drives people actions, recognizing what is from God or from the Evil one.

Gifts of Power

The Gift of Faith, John Wimber described it best as “The mysterious surge of confidence which sometimes arises within a person faced with a specific situation or need.” It is strength the Lord gives in time of need: “Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” -Ephesians 6:16

The Gift of Healing, curing someone of aliments, sometimes Mental, spiritual and most known physical. We as people are hurt by sin and its effects from broken hearts, to broken health, wounds only the God and his servants can heal in his name, power and glory.

The Gift of Working of Miracles, the ability to Do work with the direct intervention of God which define the natural laws of the universe, Peter walked on water, Elijah outran the chariots, and Joshua commanding the sun to stand still. These miracles are used to compel the lost who are only able to believe with their own eyes

These Gifts are used to Strengthen, Encourage and grow the Church to glorify the Lord who gave his life for the souls of men! Blessed Be the Name of the Lamb! Amen!

You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’ ” -Deuteronomy 1:16-17
